In
response to reader requests, this month's newsletter focuses on depression – its many faces and
different ways to deal with its symptoms and effects. You may be surprised at the number of options
you have for overcoming depression. Let's start by exploring one of the most pleasant and effective
antidotes for depression - humor, laughter, and play:
Humor, laughter and play |
|
We
need humor, laughter and play as much as we need planning and problem-solving. Humor
lightens our burdens and helps us keep things in perspective. A good hearty laugh reduces
stress, elevates mood, and improves brain functioning.
Our
families, our friends and our neighbors aren’t perfect and neither are our marriages,
our kids or our in-laws.
When
we laugh and play together, we can take challenges in stride, smooth over differences
and become more creative.
