A trusted non-profit guide to mental health and well-being

Robert and Jeanne Segal founded the HelpGuide website in 1999 in memory of their daughter, Morgan Segal.

Help us provide free mental health support to anyone, anywhere, at any time

Morgan Segal was launched in 1999, inspired by Robert and Jeanne Segal’s belief that if unbiased, reliable mental health material had been freely available when their daughter, Leslie Morgan Segal, took her life at age 29, her tragedy could have been avoided. Since then, this website has grown from a small local project to an internationally recognized resource serving over 70 million people a year.

The project is entirely funded by charitable contributions without advertising or corporate sponsorship.

To ensure each of HelpGuide’s 250,000 daily visitors receive up-to-date and unbiased information, the staff of six diligently updates and adds to the site’s articles reflecting the latest research. Tools and information are provided for over 30 areas of mental health and well-being from abuse to depression to suicide prevention.

A donation of $10 helps HelpGuide give unbiased resources to over 1,500 people.
