Douglas Russell, MSW, LCSW, is a retired psychotherapist and medical social worker who spent many years working in healthcare settings, including at UCLA Medical Center. He has developed professional training programs for healthcare providers and contributed to program development in medical and behavioral health settings.
Doug has been a long-time contributor to HelpGuide, writing and editing articles on healthy aging and later-life mental health. His work focuses on issues affecting older adults, including Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, caregiving, and strategies for maintaining health, independence, and quality of life as we age.
Doug was a Board Member of the Society for Social Work Leaders in Health Care, Southern California Chapter for over a decade. He also served for many years on HelpGuide’s steering committee.
