Nicole Hisaka, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist at UCLA Health’s Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families who have experienced trauma and other stressors, and completed postdoctoral training at UCLA’s Stress, Trauma, and Resilience (STAR) Clinic.

Dr. Hisaka holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and master’s degrees in clinical psychology from both Pepperdine University and the California School of Professional Psychology. She completed her predoctoral clinical internship at UC Davis Children’s Hospital, where she specialized in complex childhood trauma and conducted child welfare evaluations with underserved, foster, and adoptive youth.

She also trained in neuropsychology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), working with medically complex children and adolescents. She completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at UCLA’s Stress, Trauma, and Resilience (STAR) Clinic, where she served as a lead interventionist in parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT).

She is an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology and has also taught at Loyola Marymount University.
