Melinda Smith, M.A. is the Executive Director and Editor-in-Chief of HelpGuide.org International, a digital mental health nonprofit that provides clear, evidence-based guidance and practical tools to help people navigate depression, anxiety, trauma, and other common life challenges. She leads HelpGuide’s strategic direction and digital initiatives, guiding its growth and public impact as a widely used mental health education resource.

In her role at HelpGuide, Melinda collaborates closely with clinicians, researchers, and direct service organizations across the mental health and public health fields, contributing to broader efforts to expand access to trusted mental health education and support.

Throughout her career, Melinda has focused on developing psychoeducational mental health resources designed for everyday use. Her work translates psychological and medical research into supportive, practical guidance that helps individuals, families, and caregivers better understand mental health challenges and take meaningful steps toward recovery, resilience, and well-being.

She is particularly interested in advancing mental health literacy and exploring how digital interventions can complement clinical care and help address gaps in support across the broader mental health landscape.
